What is the Holiday Activity Scheme?
This scheme provides funding for the delivery of co-ordinated holiday activity programmes for children and young people (aged 8-12), designed to offer opportunities, positive experiences and reduce risk of involvement in anti-social behaviour. We offer funding for activities during the summer, October and Easter holidays.

What can you apply for?
Funding will be for programmes that add value to existing provision or create new provision where there is a clear need.  Successful applications will demonstrate that funding from BYCA will make a significant impact.

Who can apply?
Local voluntary and community organisations providing holiday activity programmes for 8-12 year old children.  Applicants should be based in one of the following areas of Bristol:

Area A – Avonmouth/Lawrence Weston
Area B – Henbury
Area C – Seamills/Shirehampton
Area D – Windmill Hill/Bedminster/Ashton/Bishopsworth
Area E – Brislington/Stockwood/Hengrove
Area F – St Pauls/Easton/Ashley
Area G – Southmead/Lockleaze
Area H – Hartcliffe/Knowle West

How do groups apply?
BYCA arranges meetings in each area so that groups wishing to provide holiday programmes can co-ordinate their activities and their funding requests. Once activities and funding requests have been co-ordinated, one group will apply to BYCA on behalf of all the other activity providers in their area, using the link below. If successful, this group will be responsible for distributing BYCA funding among the other groups in their area.

When are the next area meetings?
The next funding round is for activities in the Easter 2017 holiday. To help groups co-ordinate activities and to decide who will apply on behalf of all the groups in your area, meetings will be held as follows:

Area A – 08.02.17 19:00 at Avon Youth Club, 98a Longcross, Lawrence Weston, BS11 0LP
Area B/C – 06.02.17 19:00 at Sea Mills Boys’ & Girls’ Club, Bluebell Close, Sea Mills, BS9 2LQ
Area D –  06.02.17 16:00 at Windmill Hill City Farm, Bedminster, BS3 4EA
Area E –  09.02.17 16:00 at St Silas Club for Young People, Stockwood Lane, BS14 8SJ
Area F –  06.02.17 14:00 at Broad Plain/Riverside Youth Project, BS2 9ES
Area G –  07.02.17 16:00 – Venue TBC
Area H –  07.02.17 14:00 at Hartcliffe Club for Young People, Gatehouse Ave, BS13 9AE

If you are not able to attend the meeting but would still like to apply for funding from BYCA, please get in touch with us at byca@quartetcf.org.uk – we will put you in touch with your co-ordinating group, so that your activities can still be included in the funding bid for your area.

BYCA Update: Dates for your diary!

2017 will see BYCA move to an annual application process, with one application form covering the summer, October and Easter holiday periods. We hope that this will reduce the time that local groups spend applying for grants and enable the groups we fund to plan their activities further in advance.

Applications will work in the same way, with one group in each area taking the lead and applying on behalf of other groups in their area. Guidance on the new annual process will be issued in March 2017, but please put the meeting date for your area into your diary. Meetings will be held as follows:

Area A – 17.05.17 19:00 at Avon Youth Club, 98a Longcross, Lawrence Weston, BS11 0LP
Area B/C – 15.05.17 19:00 at Sea Mills Boys’ & Girls’ Club, Bluebell Close, Sea Mills, BS9 2LQ
Area D –  15.05.17 16:00 at Windmill Hill City Farm, Bedminster, BS3 4EA
Area E –  17.05.17 16:00 at St Silas Club for Young People, Stockwood Lane, BS14 8SJ
Area F –  15.05.17 14:00 at Broad Plain/Riverside Youth Project, BS2 9ES
Area G –  16.05.17 16:00 – Venue TBC
Area H –  16.05.17 14:00 at Hartcliffe Club for Young People, Gatehouse Ave, BS13 9AE
