Step Change Grant

This grant programme is currently closed to applications.

Maximum grant awarded:
Between £2,000 and £10,000. The amount approved can be used to cover up to three years activity.

What can you apply for?
The Step Change Grant Programme has been developed to provide organisations with the opportunity to significantly increase their capacity to respond to needs within their particular community. This step change could relate to the way in which an organisation is structured, funded or delivers its services in order to put it on a more sustainable footing.

To be eligible for a grant from the Step Change Grant Programme your work/activity must benefit people who are disadvantaged. The beneficiaries may be disadvantaged due to poverty, disability, age, location or culture. The work/activity should reflect the concerns and priorities of the target beneficiaries and fit well with existing community services/activities.

Who can apply?
Step Change Grants are targeted at small organisations with charitable aims where a small amount of money can make a significant difference. Applicants must be based and working in Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire.

There are no limits to the size of organisation which may apply for a grant. However, if an applicant organisation has more than 8 months of its annual expenditure in unrestricted reserves then its application will be considered a lower priority for funding. If your organisation is holding significant financial reserves you will need to make it clear why these reserves cannot be used to cover the cost of the activity.
