SWALLOW supports people with learning disabilities who want to live their lives with more choice and independence.
B&NES Council placed funds with QCF in order to encourage, develop and support small, local community projects and services to start up activities which otherwise wouldn’t have happened. “The Fund’s focus is on building networks of community support for vulnerable people, who can apply for what they themselves need to support their wellbeing. QCF is well-placed to help deliver this, with their wide knowledge and experience of the community and local services.” Basil Wild B&NES Council.
SWALLOW has always been driven by its members and is constantly adapting to their needs and wishes and it’s this inspirational work which has attracted donors. “SWALLOW is an excellent example of an organisation receiving funds through QCF. They fully involve clients in the design and implementation of their projects.” Ronnie Brown, Philanthropy Director, QCF.
“I didn’t do anything before I started and now I get out and about. I love the cooking sessions and now I cook Regularly at home.” Stephanie member of SWALLOW.
Through the grants received SWALLOW has been able to provide extensive support to it’s members.
The confidence of individual members has grown hugely, enabling some members to lead more independent lives as well as participating in the wealth of activities SWALLOW offers.
