Vacancy: Marketing Intern (voluntary)

Contracted hours:​ Two to three days per week (days and hours negotiable)

Salary band: Nonpaid voluntary position

Reporting to:  ​Marketing & PR Manager

Length of contract:  3-6 months (to be discussed at interview and reviewed towards end of agreed contract length)

Place of work: Queens Square, Bristol, BS1 4GB

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to use their marketing skills to support our small marketing team. If you are a marketing professional with charitable sector experience, or someone looking to gain experience in this area, this role could be for you.  We are looking for voluntary support to help us build our presence, strengthen our brand and reach new audiences.

If you are an enthusiastic marketeer, at your best working in working in a hands-on environment, forward-thinking, and happy to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues across the wider organisation, and if you are comfortable taking initiative, working with internal and external agencies and suppliers, to deliver engaging marketing communications, we’d love to hear from you and want to offer you valuable experience in a small, supportive team.

You will support the Marketing Manager and Marketing Officer with the delivery of a marketing and communications marketing plan, to meet Quartet’s strategic objectives. Contributing to the delivery of a multi channel marketing communications plan, specifically with a focus on social media, digital marketing, e-mail marketing, events, PR, website development and offline content to help raise our profile within target audiences.

Working from our offices in Queens Square, Bristol, we offer a positive, inclusive and supportive work environment.  Colleagues across the organisation work collaboratively, and you will have the support of the Marketing Manager and Marketing Officer to help you get the most out of this opportunity.  You will also be included in any organisation and/or team training and wellbeing activities on offer.

Experience required:

  • Strong organisation and stakeholder management
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Able to prioritise and deliver campaigns across a variety of channels to support the overarching marketing strategy
  • Accomplished in development and production of all marketing materials both on and offline, including copywriting
  • Ability to understand brand guidelines and ensure consistency across all touch points
  • Skilled at co-ordinating the planning and delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Comfortable and adaptable in the face of the unknown, and able to work collaboratively to seek solutions
  • Solid working knowledge of using Mail Chimp, Adobe Express, Hootsuite and WordPress.

Education and further experience

  • 1+ years experience working in traditional, digital and brand marketing.
  • Proficient at creating marketing material using InDesign, Adobe Express and Powerpoint.
  • Good copywriting skills: blogs, case studies, press releases, marketing collateral. 
  • Mail chimp, WordPress and Hootsuite.
