Coronavirus fund hits £1m in a month

Published on

Since we all entered lockdown, from a starting stop we’ve raised over £1m for the Coronavirus 2020 Response Fund. Together we’ve already helped more than 100 small, local causes in Bristol, B&NES, North Somerset & South Glos share in grants worth over £500,000.

The applications keep coming and we’re making sure this essential financial support reaches those that need it asap. Thank you for your donations, support and generosity which have made this happen.

Needs have changed over last 6 weeks

As the crisis evolves all our lives are changing and the needs of the groups, and the people they serve, are changing too. The need to feed people, so pronounced at the beginning of the crisis as families lost out on free school meals and the pandemic hit people in the pocket, remains pressing. But we’re now being asked to support many different projects. Whether it’s getting 1-2-1 advice to an older isolated carer or ramping up telephone counselling for anxious youths, together we’re making sure people get the help they need.

As long as local causes need us we’ll be here working alongside small, local projects and the people that rely on them. We are working on a longer term plan to support groups and local communities and would love you to join us to take action through this crisis, and beyond.
