As we come to the end of another year – a year that sees us working hard, continuing to make record numbers of grants that help disadvantaged people here – people like Abigail who had to give up teaching due to long-term mental health issues. She was then stuck at home for a long time, but life opened up for her when she started attending a craft group we fund for people with mental health issues. Over the last five years she has gone from nervous first-time visitor to Bath City Farm to become a peer mentor, supporting other people joining the group.
Thank you to everyone who responded to the survey in the summer about our Ambassadors’ activities. Quartet’s Philanthropy and Marketing committee discussed the survey responses and approved the programme of events for the coming year. They also decided that the name “Friends of Quartet Community Foundation” better reflects the relationship and the wonderful support you provide to Quartet, so you will see that we are using the “Friends” name from now on. The programme of events and communications will carry on as before, as will the grant-making from the fund built up with your support over more than 15 years. If you have any questions or concerns about the name change do let me know.
