After 13 years of continuous grant-making, the Stoke Park Group Friends Grant Programme will finally close at the end of October 2025. The grant programme has been a great success, awarding over 800 grants with a value of over £1 million during its lifetime. It has provided valuable support for people with learning disabilities across the West of England, with opportunities for social and community inclusion and personal development.

What is the Stoke Park Group Friends’ Fund?

The Stoke Park Group Friends’ Fund is intended to continue the charitable activities previously performed by the League of Friends of the Stoke Park Group.

What can you apply for?

The programme particularly welcomes applications for activities that help to integrate individuals with learning disabilities into the community, preventing them from becoming socially isolated. Or activities that provide opportunities for personal achievement that they otherwise would not have.

A clear case for the necessity of the funding must be made, and applications must show that the funding will have a direct impact on individual beneficiaries. It must also be made clear, when applicable, that all options for accessing appropriate statutory sources of funding have been pursued and exhausted.

You can see examples of previous grants awarded through our 2024-25 grants awarded list.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from charities/care trusts/families/carers or other bodies that represent or support people with learning disabilities and people who previously enjoyed the facilities provided by the Stoke Park Hospital Group.

Beneficiaries must be living in Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire, except where an individual living outside this area has a clear historic connection with Stoke Park Hospital Group.

How to apply?

You must apply online using one of the ‘apply online’ links on below. There are separate online forms for organisations applying and families/carers applying.

Decision turnaround

Applications are considered as and when they are received, and applicants should be notified of the outcome within 8 weeks of the application submission.
