An important announcement from our CEO, Suzanne Rolt

Suzanne Rolt

I am writing to share with you the news that I will be moving on from Quartet this summer.

Suzanne Rolt

These announcements are seldom easy to make, and I can hardly believe that three years have passed since I took up the role of CEO. I have gained immeasurably from the experience of being at Quartet: it has deepened my connection with the city and region in which I live, and it has given me a true appreciation of the strength and diversity of our many communities – and of the generosity of its many philanthropists. I have relished the opportunity to run one of the region’s largest and most respected charities and to have led a talented team committed to a vision of bringing about deep-rooted change.

I leave Quartet in order to pursue new opportunities in the arts and cultural sector, confident that the organisation will thrive and continue to go from strength to strength. I will carry on passionately leading Quartet in my remaining time here before I embrace the next chapter in my life. Our work is needed more than ever and I wish only the best for it and for the incoming CEO. I couldn’t be prouder of this organisation and the people who support it in so many different ways. Thank you to everyone for all your support while I’ve been here.

Message from our Chair of Trustees, Sue Mountstevens

“Quartet has grown in so many ways over the three years that Suzanne has been CEO and I speak for the Board when I say how very proud we are of everything she’s achieved. She leaves at a time when our endowment fund’s value has never been higher (£62m and set to grow further in the coming months) and when our grants programme has given out more in a three-year period than ever before. We have a great team and Suzanne has been a generous, thoughtful and inspiring CEO. She’ll be greatly missed by the Board and by her colleagues but we recognise that she is returning to a sector close to her heart and one where she won’t be too far away. We all wish her the very best for what we know will be a successful future.

Suzanne will continue her strong leadership as CEO for some months yet, and when she steps down, our Philanthropy Director Ronnie Brown will act as Interim CEO until the new CEO comes on board. In this way, we can assure our many supporters and partners of a consistently high-quality philanthropy service and grant making programme.”
