Funding in action: Incredible Kids

Incredible kids - Child enjoying food on Fridays

Incredible Kids is a Bristol-based charity dedicated to providing inclusive play for sessions for children and young people with additional needs and disabilities, along with their families.

Families at Incredible Kids face various challenges, such as behavioural, sensory, and dietary issues, financial pressures and food poverty. The charity provide a safe, welcoming space for meaningful play, friendship, and support.

They received an £8,000 grant to start “Incredible Fridays” after-school play sessions with activities and hot meals for children, benefiting 25 young people with additional needs and their families every Friday for 24 weeks. They also provided meal-ready food parcels for toddlers on Saturdays, easing financial burdens. The initiative included pop-up food traders from marginalised backgrounds to supply meals, supporting local traders and showcasing their talents.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at Incredible Kids. your support over the past two years has been invaluable, especially during the last six weeks.

After my husband had major surgery, I had to manager our four children with special educational needs alone. I work night shifts and had to take unpaid leave due to lack of childcare.

Attending at Incredible Friday session provided my only nutritious meal that week. The soup kids and Aldi vouchers were tremendously helpful. The dedication and assistance from your staff is remarkable, and I couldn’t have navigated this difficult period without your support.”
