Established in 2017, the North Somerset LGBT+ Forum provides practical support to the LGBT+ community across North Somerset, including their friends and families.
Based in the heart of Weston-super-Mare, this vibrant and active charity runs social groups, events and drop-ins for the local LGBT+community, offering safe, welcoming spaces where people can connect, reduce isolation, build confidence, and meet new people.
In 2025 they were awarded a £8,900 grant from the North Somerset Community Partnership Fund to help fund their operational costs including keeping the hub open and maintaining closed groups for the LGBT+ community as well as training new volunteers.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Quartet for believing in the work of North Somerset LGBT+ Forum and awarding us this amazing grant. This funding is making a real difference by helping us grow and strengthen our community, creating even more opportunities for people to connect, make friends and feel supported.
Thanks to this grant, we’ve been able to introduce new social events such as our Nando’s Social and Pamper Night, while continuing to provide our established weekly drop-in sessions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, along with our Sunday Social Days. Every event helps reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and create a welcoming space where everyone can be themselves.
This support isn’t just funding activities, it’s truly helping us build a stronger, more connected LGBTQ+ community across North Somerset. Thank you, Quartet, for making this possible.”
