Richard is Non-Executive Chair of Cleveland Group (Hire and Sales) Ltd and his charitable roles include Chair of Trustees at Old Ben Homes Ltd (a sheltered housing charity & almshouse), Chair of Finance, Audit & Risk at Bath Preservation Trust and prior to that a School Governor of Merchants Academy in Withywood, Bristol.
A Chartered Accountant by training (FCA), voted CEO of the year in 2020 and in 2021 a Regional Finalist in Ernst & Young (EY) Entrepreneur of the Year programme.
Richard has been a supporter of Quartet for over 20 years, setting up his family fund with Quartet (The Tredwin & Pennington Fund) in 2020.
With his wife Kate, they have lived in Bath for 30 years; are keen followers of Bath Rugby and Horse racing, with 3 race horses of their own in training.
He joined as a Trustee in December 2025 and is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee.
