Funding in action – The Bath & West Community Energy Fund (BWCE Fund)

Set up by award-winning Bath and West Community Energy (BWCE) in 2014 as an independent charity, the BWCE Fund provides grants to local projects that make environmental improvements, reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.

BWCE is a member owned social enterprise and one of the largest community-owned energy companies in the UK. It donates a proportion of its surplus income from renewable energy generation to the BWCE Fund each year for redistribution for community benefit.

Cutting carbon emissions across B&NES

In 2024 the BWCE Fund awarded £40,500 in grants to reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty in Bath and the surrounding areas. We are proud to support their aims and work closely with the trustees to administer the fund and award grants to charitable and community organisations on a range of projects.
