St Pauls Advice Centre has been supporting residents of St. Pauls, Ashley and East Bristol for 53 years, providing a range of free advice such as debt, immigration and welfare rights.
With demand for their services growing year on year, the building they called home in the heart of St. Pauls was no longer suitable and they needed to move to more spacious, comfortable and accessible premises.
We were delighted to be able to support their move through our ProHelp service which matches charitable organisations with businesses and individuals who want to share their professional expertise and time to make social impact.
Our fund holder, law firm TLT came forward and offered pro bono legal support to surrender the lease on their old property as well as advising on the lease for their new centre at Junction 3 Library in Easton.
TLT also made a grant from their fund with Quartet, to help St Pauls Advice Centre with their moving costs.
After months of hard work and planning, the team at St Pauls Advice Centre finally realised their vision to move into a more suitable centre within a 10 minute walk away from the old place, and we were delighted to attend the official opening ceremony.
“TLT were amazing – and even extended the pro bono hours to support the Deed of Surrender process for the property we were leaving in addition to the service provided for the new lease. The speed, expertise, diligence and scrutiny TLT applied were excellent and we are very grateful. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to Emma Barrow, TLT Trainee Solicitor, whose attention to detail was second to none.” Cas Brooks, Deputy Executive Director, St. Paul’s Advice Centre
