What is the Resilience Grant Programme?

The aim of this Resilience Grant Programme is to support local organisations with charitable aims to be better equipped to survive and thrive through challenges and opportunities. This year’s Resilience Grant Programme focuses on organisations helping those in financial hardship.

This programme is not designed to support the direct delivery of services and activities. Instead, it is to support organisations to develop their ways of working and strengthen their resilience.

What do we mean by ‘resilience’? Please read section 1 in the Guide for Applicants

What you can apply for

We recognise that you will know what can help your organisation be more resilient. So a grant can be towards any reasonable costs for your organisation or project, but has to be towards strengthening your resilience. It must be towards work or activities that have a medium to long-term impact on your organisations. Section 3 of the Guide for Applicants provides more information on what you can apply for.

Who can apply

This programme is for charitable organisations that support individuals and communities experiencing financial hardship, whose core work achieves one or more of the following outcomes:

  • Improved access to support that helps people secure a home and/or sustain safe and stable accommodation.
  • Improved ability for people to manage and cope with their financial challenges.
  • Improved skills: people improve or develop new skills to help them move towards employment and/or being work-ready.
  • Improved financial literacy: people understand their finances and have greater confidence when budgeting and managing their money.
  • Improved understanding of, and access to, benefits and entitlements.

Applicants must be based and working in Bristol, Bath & North-East Somerset, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire (collectively referred to as the ‘West of England’). Your primary function and service must be supporting people experiencing economic disadvantage. In addition, you must be one of the following:

  • constituted voluntary or community organisation
  • registered charity
  • not-for-profit company, including Community Interest Companies where they are not limited by shares and most directors receive no payment from the company
