What is the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Community Fund?
This fund offers grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 to VCFSE (Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise) groups running projects that help prevent crime, serious violence or antisocial behaviour.
What you can apply for
Your project should either make a real difference to safety in a particular neighbourhood, or it should support a group of people who are at higher risk of becoming involved in crime, as victims or as perpetrators.
We will consider projects that tackle any of the following themes from the Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Plan 2024 to 2029:
- strengthening community relationships and tackling antisocial behaviour
- reducing violent crime, including violence against women and girls and
serious youth violence - preventing crime and building safer communities
- supporting people who have been victims of crime to get the help they need.
Whatever you apply for, you need to be able to tell us clearly how your project helps to prevent crime or harm in the community. If you can do that then we can fund staff or volunteer time to deliver the project, a contribution to management costs, travel, small items of equipment, training and development, and a contribution to core running costs where these are directly relevant to the project.

Who can apply
You can apply if you are a constituted community or voluntary group, a registered charity, a charitable incorporated organisation, a community interest company, or a similar not-for-profit body working for the benefit of your community. You will need a governing document, a bank account in your group’s name with at least 2 unrelated people who can authorise payments, and appropriate safeguarding arrangements in place if you work with children or vulnerable adults.
We can consider applications from regional or national organisations, but only where no local group is doing the same work and where your project is specifically targeted within the Avon and Somerset policing area. We will not fund contributions to national campaigns.
